Spooky Fun!

Hi! Happy Tuesday! I wanted to stop by today and share some fun Halloween activities we have done this week! 

First, we read one of my favorite books...Creepy Carrots! Peter Brown is one of my favorite authors...behind Mo, of course! :) He is the illustrator of this book and I absolutely LOVE it. After reading it, we made our own little carrots and wrote about the problem and solution in the story. 

Yesterday, we went to the computer lab and used KidPix to create a Halloween picture. During writing, we wrote a Spooky Story to go along with our pictures! They did awesome, and it was a fun break from our normal workshop lessons!

We have also been working hard on Halloween story problems! I finally remembered to take pictures this morning! 

This isn't very Halloween-y BUT it was effective! My kiddos really struggled with Dot Addition from our curriculum yesterday, so I changed our activity spur of the moment today and I'm so glad I did! It REALLY helped my students practice building numbers in different ways!
