My absolute FAVORITE thing to do on Sunday is wander around my local Super Target for hours, haha. I always go by myself, and I just spend as much time walking through the aisles as I want. LOVE it. Today, I got a great haul! But, I wanted to show you what they had in the Dollar Spot. They are PERFECT for Back to School!
When I saw the blue pocket charts, I fell in LOVE!!! I hate that I can always only find pocket charts in primary colors because I have none of those in my room. So of course, I had to buy 5 of these darling bright blue ones!
Buckets...you can NEVER have too many buckets. I believe I'm going to use these on the tables for pencils.
Boxes...GLITTER boxes! I LOVE LOVE LOVE these! Those little beauties will help keep my new teacher desk (I've never had one before!) clean and organized!
And I saved the best for last! Dry Erase Pockets for 1.00! You better believe I bought a class set! And a few extra, haha. It was such a steal I couldn't pass it up! I've never had these in my room before so I am SO pumped for them!
Now one to an even better classroom must have. I got an email from the AMAZING people at Smile Makers and they wanted to send me a product for my room! What?!?! I was so honored! :) So I got something I have had my eye on for a while. I have always wanted these babies, but never remember to buy them. So this was the perfect opportunity! They are a fabulous company based out of South Carolina...and their parent company is one of my very favorite stores...Staples!!
I am SO excited. The possibilities for these are seriously endless. I went ahead and made a few freebies that you could use in this awesome product! Thank you Cara Carroll, Melonheadz, and Scrappin Doodles! :)
I think this would be a really fun writing center, or a great speaking activity for the first few weeks of school. Your kiddos can roll the dice, and write/tell about a time they felt one of these things!
This would just be a simple math idea that could be played whole group or in a center. I would assign students a number (over 10) and roll the dice. Then, I would have the solve the problem either with manipulatives, picture, or to practice mental math! You could change the number they start with so this game could literally go on forever!
Finally, I would use this when we earned a class reward, like when we fill up our marble jar! I would roll the dice to see what our reward was! :)
You should DEFINITELY grab these cubes up for your school year! I would love to hear how you are going to use them in your room!
Click the picture to check it out at Smile Makers!!They have so much great stuff! AND they offer free shipping when you join their Teacher Perks program! Can't beat that! Here are a few of my other favorite products from their fabulous site!
Wow! You lucked out at the Dollar Spot. This is the first year where every Target I went to was cleared out! So sad. :(
ReplyDeleteI can never find anything that good! Our dollar spot always look like it has been shaken, stirred, and dumped out. Sad day.
