Organizing Clipart

All you TPTers/TNers out there...question. How is your clipart organized? Cause as of about 9:00 this morning, mine was a HOT MESS. I did keep them in folders by the creator, so I would always know how to thank. BUT, I had no idea what was in each folder, because there was too much to remember. I would get done with an activity and find some adorable clipart in a random folder that I totally didn't know was there!

Plus, it drove me crazy how all of the folders looked so different. Some had no thumbnails, some had the same thumbnail 3 times, hahah. So, my project today was to organize my clipart. I tried to make a list of all the folders I would need, but I ended up just adding them as I went. I put all of the folders on the Desktop...like this. If hubby saw my desktop like this, he might keel over from horror.

Some of the titles are kind of weird, because I just couldn't think of anything else! :) THEN, I went through each designer's folders and started moving them to the thematic folders. All you have to do is click them, and drag them to the folder you want them in! Then, I did the same thing with all of those thematic folders. I made a new folder called Clipart, and here is what it looks like inside.

So easy! After that, I went in, and made sure the designer was listed. So...now my folders look like this! :)

I realized this whole thing rests on knowing how to make a new folder. Just in case anyone is like WHAT THE HECK!?!? Here is how you do it!

  3. I organize mine very much like yours! Mine are in a folder named Clip Art on my desktop and full of thematic folders inside. Then inside each thematic folder are tons of other folders for each set of clip art. Each of these folders is titled with the name of the set and the artist. Inside are all of the images, plus the TOU info. So easy! It's nice to find somebody who thinks thematically like I do :)

  4. Just found your blog. LOVE it! I'm your newest follower. THANKS for the info on organizing the clipart. I'm in the process of doing mine and your post was VERY helpful. I'm like you were, mine are all by artist. But then it takes me forever to find what I need. This will really speed things up. Thanks again!
