I am so proud of my super productive week!! :) Not only have I made a few mini packs (AND a few MEGA Packs!), but my house is SPOTLESS. So proud. :) I miss my little ones, but man it is nice to sleep in, have time to clean, do all the laundry, and still make stuff for school before my hubby even gets home. A girl could get used to this! I got a custom blog design for Christmas....YAYAY! I can't wait to unveil it! Be looking out. :) Here is one I finished tonight
Monday- Anchor Chart about Characters (We will draw our favorite characters from a book and add them to our recording sheet.) Then, they will do one of the response sheets. (There are like 6 in the packet just on characters).
Tuesday- Setting. We will brainstorm settings from books we have read, and then read a trade book (I haven't decided yet) and do the response sheet. (I love it because there is a space for the time and place.)
Wednesday- Problem/Solution Day! I haven't decided exactly how I am going to introduce it...I'm sure I can find something adorable. But, then we will read a book (probably a Fairy Tale) and respond on the Problem/Solution page.
Thursday- We will read a book as a class. Then, they will work together to fill out the Story Elements page (it looks like a frayer model.) After I have gone over it with them, they will put it on a big poster. Yeah. We love chart paper in my room. :)
Friday- Retelling in Order. We will read a book, and use the anchor chart pieces to sequence There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow using ordinal numbers.
Everything I mentioned is in the packet! Yeah! Comment for your own copy. :)
We are doing data collecting in Math. It's one of my most favorite topics. I LOVE it. My babies play zombies EVERYDAY at recess, so I got these adorable Zombies from Krista at Creative Clips. We will be using our Zombie pack all week to practice making and reading bar graphs, pictographs, and tally charts.
And my last big success of the week...my vowel packs! OMG I'm so excited for these!!!
Each pack has:
Concentration/Pocket Chart Matching
Word Sort (Pictures and Words)
Write the Room (2 versions)
Race to the Finish Board Game
Connect 5 Board Game

I love having that "extra" time to get things done! Glad you were able to get caught up. We will be working with story elements when we return...working in snowmen into that.
